12-Week Meta-Analysis Module – Overview

What to Expect

Mentorship: You will receive personalized mentorship from experts in evidence synthesis, biostatistics, and research methodology. Each batch includes approximately 10 mentees, ensuring a balance between collaborative learning and individual guidance throughout the 12-week journey.

Weekly Online Sessions: Live interactive sessions will be conducted weekly via Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Session timings will be finalized based on the collective availability of enrolled mentees to accommodate different time zones.

Curriculum Highlights

This intensive 12-week program is designed to provide hands-on experience in conducting a complete meta-analysis—from formulating a research question to preparing a manuscript for publication.

You will learn:

• How to define a precise and answerable research question
• To develop and register a detailed protocol following PRISMA guidelines
• To conduct a comprehensive database search and structured screening process
• Data extraction and coding using standardized templates
• Assessment of heterogeneity, study quality, and risk of bias
• Practical use of statistical software (e.g., RevMan, R, or STATA) for meta-analytic computations
• Generation and interpretation of forest plots, funnel plots, and evaluation of publication bias
• Writing, formatting, and preparing the final manuscript for submission to indexed journals

Tasks and Contribution

Each week, you’ll complete structured tasks that mirror real-world research steps—helping you apply your learning directly to an ongoing project.

Authorship order will be determined transparently based on the extent, consistency, and quality of individual contribution to research, analysis, and writing.

Publication success depends on multiple factors, including the quality of the project, adherence to deadlines, and the level of individual contribution during the module.
